I was cruising along EDSA on my way to Makati a week ago, and I noticed the incredibly low price of gasoline at the Total station just before MRT-Boni Avenue. I slowed down a bit, hoping to see an equally good deal at the next gas station. And boy was I surprised; Caltex did have the same low price. And it was roughly 4 pesos cheaper than the price of Xtra Unleaded with e10 at the Petron station near my home.Aren't we glad when a rollback of 1 peso or even 50 centavos was announced? Well, this is a price difference of 4 pesos!
So as an added service for my clients, I am making this post to inform them of the lowest-priced fuel products in Metro Manila. Updates will be posted in the Comments section.
Obviously, it would be impractical to go to this station if it is out of the way. So if you have information on the lowest-priced fuel products in other areas, please feel free to post it here for everyone's benefit.
By the way, if you're going the other way, the Caltex station on EDSA after Kalayaan Avenue offers low prices as well. But this Boni station still beats it by a few centavos.
Caltex Station on EDSA corner Boni Avenue (as of July 13, 2009):
e10: P33.20 per liter
Silver: P34.95
Gold: P37.75
Diesel: P27.50.

According to XTO in http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45359&page=65, diesel is at P26.30 per liter at the Caltex and Petron stations along Quezon Avenue in front of Diamond Motor. Same with the Caltex station near the Welcome Rotonda.

MANILA, Philippines—Independent oil player Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. Monday slashed the prices of its gasoline by a hefty P4.75 a liter, diesel by P3.50 a liter, and kerosene by P1.50 a liter—the biggest rollback yet this year.
Unioil general manager Chito Medina-Cue Jr. said the drastic drop was due to the continuous downward trend in world crude prices and the company’s commitment to sell high quality petroleum products at fair prices.
With the rollback, Unioil’s unleaded gasoline will retail at P35 a liter; its Quantum Premium gasoline at P35.44; regular unleaded, P34.66; Pure Diesel Plus (B1), P27.54; and kerosene, P38.44 a liter.
The Caltex station on EDSA cor. Boni has slashed its diesel price to P27.00. Prices on the other products remain, although it's E10 is still cheaper at P33.20.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, not all gasoline-fed cars are compatible with e10. To confirm your car's compatibility, check this site and call your dealer. Although Mazda is not included there, I have been using e10 with my Mazda3 for a year now.

ReplyDeleteCaltex Edsa-Boni has reduced its Silver with Techron to P32.95. This must be the cheapest unleaded/e10 fuel in the country today. Like other Caltex stations, it no longer has separate Silver and e10 products. Its diesel is now P26.50, while its Gold is at P37.50.

ReplyDeleteI went to Tagaytay last Friday and saw Unioil's unleaded gas at only 41.46, even lower than that in Manila. My brother-in-law in fact told me that he noticed the Jetti price at only 41.25 along the Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, where my kumpadre Manny de Castro is running for Congressman.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, fuel prices after the SCTEX in Tarlac are in the 38-peso area, just like in Cebu.

ReplyDeleteWent to Trece Martirez and Gen Trias in Cavite last Sunday. On my way back, I discovered that Seaoil after Island Cove in Binakayan offers the cheapest diesel, lower than that at Caltex near Coastal Mall. Seaoil's diesel last Sunday was at P30.75/liter while Caltex's was at 31.24. That Seaoil's unleaded was at 40.05.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm not posting it yet as the lowest, pending verification of their adjusted prices as of yesterday. But if you happen to pass by the area, be sure to gas up there.
Diesel prices along the stretch of Governor's Drive from GMA, Cavite, to Dasmarinas and Trece Martirez are also low, ranging from 31 to 30.85--before the price increase yesterday.
